AeroVironment has begun preparations to deliver the Puma unmanned aircraft system to a US ally. The drone has just been awarded a $8.5 million contract by AeroVironment. Read on to learn more about this drone. This article will also include the Puma LE, and the RQ-20 AE. This article will also cover the Switchblade 300 loitering munition. As new details become available, this article is going to be updated.

Puma LE

The Puma Ae (All Environment), small unmanned drone system is operated by the US Air Force in Afghanistan. This drone is a capable intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance system that is designed to perform in a variety of environments, including land and maritime. Its robust design allows it to perform well in high-altitude settings. It can also perform search andrescue missions, drug interdiction missions and maritime patrol missions. The drone will become available in spring 2020.

The Puma LE weighs in at 23.5 pounds and can carry a payload up to 5.5 pounds. It comes with an Ethernet connection and an EO/IR sensor suite. It can be launched by hand, or via a bungee. It can operate for up to 60 kilometers and lasts for 5.5 hours. Using AeroVironment's Long-Range Tracking Antenna, the Puma LE can operate at up to 60 kilometers.

Puma 3 AE

The Puma 3AE is a small, unmanned drone with a high mounted main assembly and traditional single-fin fin tail unit. It can be operated by one person in the field or by a second operator at the ground control station. The aircraft can do deep stall landings as well as automatic recovery from a crash. It carries a Mantis i45 sensor suite, including a 50x Dual 15 megapixel electro-optic camera, a 1.2MP low-light camera, and a 640x512p thermal imaging system.

The Puma 3AE is capable of both land- and maritime operations. It is lightweight at 15 pounds and has a 9.2 foot wingspan. It can operate for 2.5 hours and land in water, providing high-resolution imagery. Puma 3 AE drone features a Mantis i45 AE gimbal. It has 50x zoom capabilities and IR capabilities. The Puma 3 AE drone's sensor suite provides enhanced imaging capabilities and extended flight time.

RQ-20 AAE

The RQ-20 AE ISR rocket is a rugged, lightweight, hand-launched ISR platform that carries an IR illuminator, infrared imaging camera, and electro-optical cam. Its payload is engineered to provide exceptional performance in harsh environments. Its Precision Navigation System, (PNS), as well as secondary GPS, allow it to fly with greater precision and reliability. This unmanned aircraft can be controlled remotely by a battle-proven Ground Control Station. It can also be operated autonomously using GPS or manually.

The RQ-20 AE's range is twelve miles and the flight time is three hours. Its wingspan measure nine feet. It weighs fourteen pounds. The United States plans to deploy a few of these drones to Ukraine in April 2022. These drones will be used for assessing threat levels and enemy strength within areas like Ukraine. The RQ-20 can also be used for ISR missions, such as Scout Surveil, environmental threat assessment and target scouting.

Switchblade 300 lotering munition

The Switchblade 300, an anti-drone weapon, can be used by both conventional and special forces. Its unique wave off feature makes it an ideal loitering weapon. With a range of about ten kilometers and a maximum speed of 160 km/h, the Switchblade can reach a target in just under 6 minutes. One Switchblade 300 may be deployed from an aircraft or motor vehicle.

The Switchblade can be used for one purpose and is light at less that 2 feet in length. It also weighs less then 5.5 pounds. It can fly up to 15 minutes and costs less than six thousand dollars. You can carry the Switchblade in a rucksack to make it easy to transport. The Switchblade 300 loitering munition was tested in the United States as well as in Ukraine. Its accuracy is comparable with a traditional mortar, and its effects are the same.

How To

What is a battery pack and how do I replace it?

The main power source for your drone's motors is the battery pack. These packs provide enough power to keep your quadcopter in flight safely and smoothly.

A new drone will likely not have any noticeable differences in its battery pack. But, over time, your battery pack will slowly become worn down. Eventually, it might stop working altogether. To ensure your drone continues to operate properly, you'll have to replace its battery pack.

It is recommended to use the original replacement part when replacing a battery. Installing a defective battery pack can cause damage to your drone.

These are the steps you need to follow in order to replace a dead battery pack.

  1. Disconnect the battery connector cable. This will ensure your drone doesn't get any electric current. Simply pull the connector cable off the drone to disconnect it.
  2. Remove the battery pack. The battery pack should be removed from the quadcopter's base. The battery usually separates into two parts.
  3. Locate the contacts of your battery. After you've taken out the battery pack, search for the battery contacts. These tiny metal pins are what connect the battery to other components within the drone.
  4. Install the new battery. Next, install the new battery into the drone. Then align the battery connectors on the battery pack's two sides. Next, place the battery pack on the drone. Once the battery is in place, tighten all bolts.
  5. Reattach the battery connector cables. After installing the new battery pack, reconnect the battery connector cable to the drone.
  6. The drone should be tested. Test your drone before flying it again. If it does, then congratulations!
