How To

Repairing A Damaged Drone Motor

It is important to first identify which motor part is damaged before you can repair it. This is easiest to do by removing the propeller from its shaft. Then, you need to remove any wires connected to the motor and inspect its inner workings. If you see something wrong, then you know what part of the motor you have to fix.

If the motor is in good condition, you shouldn't worry. But if it looks like one of the images below, you will need to replace parts before you can fly again.

Consider a motor that has become bent and won't turn. You will need to bend it back into shape. You could use a vice grip or a pair of pliers to hold the motor while bending it back into shape. After you've completed the above, ensure that you inspect the motor for signs and wear.

Once everything looks good, you can put the propeller back on the motor shaft. Then, reattach the wires. Now you are ready to fly your drone!
