The Small UAV Coalition is pleased to announce that the House of Representatives has passed the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018. The legislation authorizes the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), for six more years. This will support continued growth in the American commercial unmanned aircraft system industry and ensure safety in our national airspace. The coalition expresses its thanks to House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Shuster, Reps. Lipinski, Perry, and Sanford, for their support in passing the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018.

Supports legislation and policy changes to allow small unmanned aerial vessels to operate

In the United States, the proposed regulations would allow the use of small UAVs for law enforcement and emergency management. The proposed regulations would prohibit the use of UAS to voyeurism, hunt, or attach weapons to them. In addition, the proposed regulations would require that operators obtain a flight permit from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and complete a test to operate drones. Local governments will decide whether to allow commercial drones by the end this year.

It would ban UAS from being operated in areas where there is a reasonable expectation that privacy will be maintained, such as bathrooms, locker rooms and individual residential rooms. It also prohibits the use of UAS on campus buildings, daycare centers, or residential hallways. The legislation would however exempt UAS operators from using them for government or business purposes. However, university officials would be able to use UAS in certain areas under the new legislation.

Development of infrastructure to support widespread use low-altitude airspace

How To

Repairing a damaged motor on a drone

First, identify the broken part of the motor to repair it. The easiest way to do this is to remove the propeller from the motor shaft. Then you should remove any wires attached to the motor and look at the inner workings of the motor itself. If there is something wrong with the motor, you will know which part you need to repair.

You don't need to worry if there's no damage to your motor. However, a motor that looks like the one below will require you to replace certain components before you can fly again.

Let's say that a motor is bent so that it can no longer turn. You will need to bend it back into shape. To hold the engine, use a pair pliers or a vice grip. Once you've done this, make sure to check the motor thoroughly for signs of wear.

Once you're satisfied that everything's ok, put the propeller back onto the motor shaft and reattach the wires. Now your drone is ready to fly!
